MUSIC n CHESS
Those who don't know that I love playing chess - don't know me well enough. =P
I love music and I also love chess. Are there any connections between music and chess? Apparently, to some sources (eg. The Oxford Companion to Chess), some musical terms are used in chess and vise versa; such as play, piece, notation, score, tempo, theme, variation, development, minimal composition, round, major and minor, position, second, retrograde, mirror, attack, anticipation, phase and echo. Wow.., honestly? Some of them I don't know how they are used in chess.
I just fed on my curiosity during my break at work today, browsing to see if they have some things in common. Read few stuff and found them very interesting.
So now you know, I love chess - it gives my brain a little twist. (And who knows, it might help with my musical ability too?).
