BUMPED INTO A STRANGER
It was last night, I finished teaching and was going home (pretty late around 8:30pm). Arrived at Hurstville station, this australian born chinese guy looked at me strangely and not long after he was approaching and sitting next to me (I felt he was still looking at me). I thought well .. just ignored him, although I got a little nervous. Train was due out in around 3 mins, we were just sitting there. So the train arrived, we went to different carriages next to each other, he was with his friend I'm pretty sure. Not a while I sat down, this guy (alone) walked into my carriage which at that time was kinda quiet, not many ppl around. I thought *oh no, this guy again!*. I tried not to look at him, but he started talking to me ... he said "what are you up to?". I thought *God please help me!*. So I said that I was going home. So we introduced ourselves. Here's how the rest of our conversation went approximately:
The guy: "Oh, where do u live?"
Me: "Oh uh...I live in Rockdale..."
The guy: "Right.. cool. I just live in Carlton..pretty close ey."
Me: "Yeah"
The guy: "U know I was just looking at you and you looked familiar to me, I just can't recall...yeah you're very familiar..hmmm"
Me: "Really? Hmm well I go to church, maybe you've seen me there."
The guy: "Which church do u go to?"
Me: "The Indonesian Presbyterian Church.."
The guy: "Umm no but I used to go to church, Hillsong church in the city.."
The guy: "So u just finished work or something..?"
Me: "Yeah just finished teaching piano.."
The guy: "Wow..you must be very good. I play abit of guitar but I'm not good at it...but I love to be able to play well. Do you just work or..?"
Me: "Yeah work and study."
The guy: "What do u study?" *I knew he was going to ask that!*
Yeah...bla..bla..bla... so we arrived in Carlton he had to get off.
The guy: "Alright Jenny, nice talking to you. If next time we bump into each other again, I will have to ask for your number!"
I was like...*Uh?! I'm not giving out my number to a complete stranger!*.
Girls! Be careful... this happens quite common these days. Don't ever give out any personal information to ppl you hardly know.
Well this guy was really nice the way he talked, looked like he just wanted to be friends, but who knows?! He's got tatoo on his chest ...so pretty scary to me!
I hope I won't see him again at the station! Please God, help me. Even if I see him again in the future, please guide me safely.

Well, pretty dangerous .. fiuhh ...
I guess the old advice of always trying to travel where most people are at night especially might still be a good idea. And also you are not obliged to answer all of his question jen, for instance telling him where you live might not be wise at all ...
Thanks Didi.
Yeah couldn't help it, that was late and not many ppl around either. I didn't know how NOT to answer his questions, because most of them were pretty straight forward questions you see, not that something explainable, the answers were just there.
Maybe any suggestions at all? "In case" next time.
wow pretty freaky!!....it's hard being beautiful ya jen?? its probly "likes" (instead of love) at the first sight for him, jen! hahahah =P jk
stranger asked me to in the bus, where do i live, number and stuff...and i have to lie and get off a bus stop earlier...coz im scared he's gonna come and wait in my bus stop! but the stupid thing that i did, i get off in a really dark place...man i shouldnt do that! but yeah...i was young back then..ahh
but now if people asked me where i lived, i would simply say "Why?"...and try not to answer it...
and just say "around here" or "not far from here"
coz the scary thing of giving the suburb names in train station, they may wait ... well this is my imagination anyway...
and and next time if he ask for ur phone number next time...
this is what i'll say:
"hmmm sorry but i dont really give out numbers to stranger"
and if u feel really bad, and to make him feel better just say
"look, how about u just give me ur number?"
and throw it away...soft rejection...hehehe
or or this always work " oh, sorry i already have a boyfriend" hehehehehe or even a husband! hehehehe
arghh so scary jen! be careful ya next time...and dont go home too late...get ur bro to pick u up from train station or something....
btw, is this guy good looking? =P hehe just wondering...

Cindy, you are so funny and veerryyy smart girl. Thanks for your input!
Should we lie though? Huahaha.. white lie? What do you think?
No, but I think your ideas were pretty smart, instead of giving out my number, get his number instead, see if he gives!
The guy is not bad looking to be honest ^_-'
Haha thx Joan :)
Guess what?! You know I never wore any rings on my fingers right? But for some reasons (!!) I wore it that day *lagi centil u know...*. I wore it on my middle finger on my left hand (whatever that would mean). Yeah, and weird .. when talking, he was looking at my ring (yea, I spot it, mau ngerampok kali yee). I was just WIGGLING my fingers ahhahaa....
Email!! Gr8 idea! I might try that IF I encounter something like this again (praying not!). Hmm... thx guys and gals for all your brilliant ideas. I wasn't smart enough to think something like these. You guys are just genius! :)
the guy is not bad looking?? hmmmmmmmmmm u might want to get his number then? HAHAHAHAHAHA just joking! =P
Email address is a great idea! but dont give him fake numbers coz he might check it on the spot
