Listening to last night's 103.20 FM reflection by Kel Richards. What should we say to people with anxieties and problems in life? Should we just say "It's alright, rejoice!"? II Corinthians 11:23-33 ~ Paul suffered tremendously yet he boasted in his weaknesses. He suffered for God's name, what a faith!
Phillipians 4:4-9 ~ Paul again encourages us to rejoice in the Lord always. Why and how? Read on....
It should be easy to say to our christian friends.."Rejoice!", they might know what it means, might not either. What about our non-christian friends? They won't be able to grasp it why or what on earth is it that we should rejoice in such a situation like this? As the above passage tells us, "..., whatever is true, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things." Whenever we face any difficulties, yep we are troubled; substitude our anxieties into the good things in our lifes.
For our christian friends, "The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Paul says: "Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice!"
Finally, as I pulled these ideas together, I have been encouraged myself. Hope you are. ;)
